/06.13.2008/ Regeneration This August, Human League, Balinda Carlisle, A Flock of Seagulls, as well as other acts will be touring across North America, playing amphitheaters and arenas, and Chris "Topher" Grosek has been brought on to Design and Direct the lighting rig for the tour. More information on the design and tour will be coming, but Topher has already gotten a basic layout done, which will include Martin Mac 2000's, High End Systems ShowGuns, as well as many other fixtures, including Martin Atomic 3000 Color Strobes and LED Fixtures. /05.22.2008/ Dancing With Stars The R&B/Hip Hop sensation Mario has hired Chris "Topher" Grosek to direct the lighting for his latest tour this summer running June 12th - July 20th. The lighting design was done by Lenny Lindsey, and he also brought Topher into the mix. The tour, which is on the heels of Mario's recent appearance on "Dancing With The Stars", is spanning across the United States, headlining Six Flags Amphitheaters and House of Blues, as well as a few arenas and radio shows along the way. /10.20.2007/ HELLYEAH! Once again, Chris "Topher" Grosek has been hired by a major national act, as the headline reads, "Hellyeah", however, he hasn't been hired in his usual sense. Topher is being used as a merch person, something you USUALLY don't see him doing. However, he is excited, saying ''It should be a good change of pace, and a chance to expand my knowledge of the industry even more.'' Topher handled merchandise for HURT on one tour, as well as LD'ing. He will start the Hellyeah tour as they open for Korn, and then as they headline their own tour across the country with Otep opening, which will end approximately December 22nd. /09.28.2007/ Used For The Used! Chris "Topher" Grosek recently did a 2 month journey across America as the lighting director for their 2007 US Tour, designed by Joe Paradise. The tour played House of Blues to Arenas all over the country, and the band and crew put on a great show for the thousands of fans every night. /04.28.2007/ Back To Back Well, The SnoCore Tour lived up to it's name!!! The 2 month trek across America back-and-fourth through frigid weather ended March 5th in warm San Diego. Chris went out as the lighting designer for Hurt on the tour, as he did at the end of last year on the Alice In Chains tour. The boys of Neurosonic and Dropping Daylight also had their names on the bill with headliners Army of Anyone, comprised of Richard Patrick of Filter singing fame, Stone Temple Pilots' guitar and bass masters Rob and Dean Deleo, and behind the drums, the absolutely incredible Ray Luzier. And now with summer coming comes the warmth and fresh breezes of Amphitheater lawns. /12.22.2006/ Happy Holidays! 2006 Was a busy year here! We finished up the year being independently contracted by Capitol Records / EMI recording artist HURT for their North American theater tour as direct support for rock legends Alice In Chains. The tour lasted from October 8th till November 30th. The band has re-hired Christopher as their LD for their next tour, which will be the Sno-Core tour as direct support for Army of Anyone from January 18th till March 10th. We can't wait for the new year with HURT!!! /9.25.2006/ We're Back! After a year of not having a website, I'm happy to announce that my website is back online! Chris has been quite busy this summer, spending a good portion of 2 months on the road with KC And The Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, and Tavares on "KC's Boogie Blast", a North American amphitheater/arena tour. Chris was the lead lighting technician on the tour, responsible for getting the lighting rig up and working every day at each venue. Lenny Lindsey, KC And The Sunshine Band's LD, designed the lighting rig for the tour, which included 120k of conventional lighting, as well as 12 Martin Mac2000's, 6 Martin Mac550's, and 6 Martin Atomic 3000 strobes. Earlier this year, Chris received his Coemar Technician certification, making him an official certified technician for Coemar moving lights. He also got to be one of the first LD's to work with the new Compulite Vector 'Blue' console for 2 weeks, using it on shows he designed this summer for Chuck Berry, Erika Jo, and The Hooters. Chris Nathan of Inner Circle Distrobution, and also the US rep. for Compulite, trained Chris on the console in Florida earlier in the year. |
